Enhanced 9-1-1 Addressing Project

Westmoreland County 9-1-1, with the support of the County commissioners, is in its final stages to enhance 9-1-1 and emergency response for the citizens of Westmoreland County.

Right now when you dial 9-1-1, emergency dispatchers sometimes have difficulty in determining the exact location of your emergency. With enhanced 9-1-1, the address you are calling from, your name, and phone number will be displayed on a computer screen in the County 9-1-1 Center. This will help ensure a more rapid response of emergency personnel.

To prepare for the enhanced 9-1-1, each occupied structure in the County will need to have a street and number-type address - like 100 Main Street or 632 Elm Road. If you do not have a street address now, in coordination with your local government, one will be provided.

Currently, all municipalities' addressing projects have been completed except for the CIty of Monessen.  Monessen officials are in their final stages of preparation before implementing their readdressing. Westmoreland County Commissioners want all residents of Westmoreland County to get prompt help when you have an emergency.

So do you.

Help 9-1-1 help you.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact  Addressing Coordinator.
