Westmoreland County Parks Pavilion Rentals
 
 
Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation offers many pavilions available for rent at Mammoth, Twin Lakes, Cedar Creek, and Northmoreland Park.  Here are a few things to consider when planning your event:

  • Applications and instructions for reserving park pavilions are available by calling 724.830.3950.  Or download the Pavilion Rental Application (pdf file).
  • View the Rental Fees ,and click one of the links below to view the pavilion summary chart for each park and see which pavilion is right for your group!  Each chart contains information including seating capacity, distances from parking areas, restroom facilities, and more.

  • Special Event Permit. Any group that exceeds the capacity of the park by 50% or requires the use of park areas and facilities beyond the normal operating procedures shall be required to obtain a Special Event Permit. The Permittee may be required to pay additional fees and/or provide additional support facilities or services.  All special event permits are subject to approval.
  • Special Use Permit. You must obtain a Special Use Permit for any of the following: bands, D.J., beer wagons, pig roasts, tents, wedding ceremonies, carnival rides, etc. For further information call 724.830.3950.  Download the Special Use Permit Application here (pdf file).
  • Athletic Fields. Softball, baseball, and soccer fields are available on weekends and holidays to those groups who have pavilion reservations.  There is only one ballfield allotted per pavilion reservation.  If you have no pavilion reservation, please contact us for tournament fees and applications.
  • Garbage and Litter Removal. Garbage removal is privately contracted in the Parks throughout the picnic season. Garbage barrels are not provided at the pavilion sites. Park visitors are required to deposit their garbage and litter in the dumpsters, which are located in the parking area as close as possible to the pavilion sites. Park Maintenance will provide those groups with reservations plastic garbage bags to collect their refuse and litter for

    deposit into the dumpsters.  The permittee must make sure all garbage is cleaned up before you leave.  No confetti is permitted.
  • Parking. The parking of vehicles is only permitted in the designated parking areas provided. The loading and unloading of vehicles is only permitted where a direct access road is provided to the pavilion and only under the guidance of the Park Police or Park Maintenance Staff. Every attempt will be made to assist you to get the handicapped and elderly members of your family or group to the sites, weather permitting.
  • Signage. The Bureau provides a variety of signage throughout the parks and posts reservation lists on the Main Park Bulletin boards and the Park Maintenance Centers to direct people to their park sites. We also provide brochures and maps you can reproduce for directional purposes. We try to keep signage to a minimum to preserve the natural beauty of the Parks.
  • Staples and nails are prohibited. Please use tape to fasten table coverings to the picnic tables or to decorate the pavilions. Staples and nails, when not removed, rust and break, leaving sharp pieces of metal exposed, which creates a safety hazard.
  • Play Safely. A variety of play and court areas are found throughout the parks. We maintain and monitor the safety of these areas constantly. Most of the accidents that occur in the parks result from the lack of adult supervision. Take the time to play with your kids in the parks.
  • Play Equipment Rental. Limited recreation equipment rental at reasonable rates are available at the Northmoreland and Twin Lakes Park Boathouses, Cedar Creek Station, and the Mammoth Park Maintenance Center.
  • Boating. Special group boating rates are available in advance at the Boating/Food

    Concessions to compliment your picnic. For special group rates, contact the Twin Lakes Boathouse at 724.832.7735 or the Northmoreland Park Boathouse at 724.727.3899.
  • Bicycling. Special group rates are available in advance at the Cedar Creek Station on the Youghiogheny Trail to compliment your picnic. For group rates, contact the Cedar Creek Station at 724.930.7004.
  • Activity Centers. Year round indoor heated Activity Centers with kitchens and restroom facilities are available at Twin Lakes and Northmoreland Parks. The approximate seating capacity is 90 people. The indoor centers are ideal for business meetings, workshops, dinners, parties, bridal showers, Christmas parties, etc.
  • Problems. When visiting the parks. If a problem arises, please contact the Park Police at 724-830-3567, the Park Maintenance personnel, or telephone 911.
The Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks & Recreation relies heavily on visitor input to develop Park Policy regarding maintenance, programs, and facility development. Please email us and let us know what is working, as well as what is not, and what your concerns may be.
