Allegheny Township, before Allegheny Township, after
08-01 Allegheny Township: Street Reconstruction
The project involved installation of storm water inlets and pipe, 1,750 tons of asphalt, and 450 tons of stone base on six streets in the Gosser Hill Road area in the northern section of Allegheny Township to serve 52 housing units. The final cost was $223,932.72.


Trafford Borough, before Trafford Borough, after
08-02 Trafford Borough: Storm Water Facilities

Project includes installation of nine storm water inlets, 340 linear feet of storm water pipe, 2050 square yards of binder course, 3050 square yards of wearing course, and 1305 linear feet of wedge curbing within existing rights of way on Highland Avenue, Shady Lane, and Shady Lane Alley in the South Trafford area to serve 10 housing units. Final cost was $47,036.00.

Hempfield Township, before Hempfield Township, after
08-03 Hempfield Township: Street Reconstruction
Project details include installation of 17,940 square yards of leveling and wearing course and 5,740 linear feet of wedge curbing on six streets in the village of Bovard to serve 138 housing units. Final cost was $217,879.91.



Vandergrift Sanitary Sewer Line Installation, before Vandergrift Sanitary Sewer Line Installation, after
08-04 Vandergrift Borough: Sanitary Sewer Line Installation

This project includes installation of 660 linear feet of eight inch sanitary sewer line and 3,300 square yards of sidewalks and driveways on Franklin Avenue to serve 17 housing units. The final cost was $68,407.20.



Oklahoma Borough Street Reconstruction, before Oklahoma Borough Street Reconstruction, after
08-05 Oklahoma Borough: Street Reconstruction

Milling of 3,150 square yards of roadway, installation of 350 tons of binder course, and 3,150 tons of wearing course were installed within existing rights of way on Walnut Street to serve 17 housing units. Final cost was $67,562.22.


Westmoreland County Project, before Westmoreland County Project, after
08-06 Westmoreland County: Removal of Architectural Barriers

The project consisted of replacement of two restroom facilities at two county-owned parks, Cedar Creek park and Mammoth Park, which were inaccessible to physically disabled persons. The new units are fully accessible and in compliance with ADA standards. The final cost was $183,612.73.


Westmoreland County Cultural Trust Project, before Westmoreland County Cultural Trust Project, after
08-07 Westmoreland Cultural Trust: Public Facilities Rehabilitation
The project involved restoration of 42 badly deteriorated windows on the second and third floors of the Palace Theater. The Palace Theater is a contributing structure in the Downtown Greensburg Historic District and the restoration was in compliance with U.S. Department of the Interior historic rehabilitation standards.

Irwin Hotel before demolition After Irwin Hotel demolition
08-08 Irwin Borough: Demolition
The project consisted of the demolition and removal of a vacant dilapidated structure, the former Irwin Hotel. The building was severely damaged by a fire in 2009 which destroyed the roof and the third floor and badly damaged the first and second floors. The building was condemned by the borough’s code enforcement officer. Final cost was $55,800.00.

08-09 Trafford Borough: Demolition
This project was made up of the demolition and site clearance of a vacant dilapidated structure known as the Trafford Motor Company located at 504-506 Cavitt Avenue. The final cost was $28,900.00. This project contributed to public health and safety by removing a blighted building.


Vandergrift Sewer Separation, before Vandegrift Sewer Separation, after 
08-11 Vandergrift Borough: Sewer Separation
This project was designed to separate a combined storm and sanitary sewer located on 31st Street to serve 10 housing units. This was accomplished by installing 745 linear feet of new sanitary sewer line and replacing 480 linear feet of deteriorated sections of the existing line which will serve as the storm water line. Final cost was $118,069.00.


Mt. Pleasant demolition, before Mt. Pleasant demolition, after 
08-12 Mount Pleasant Borough: Demolition
The project involved demolition and clearance of a vacant dilapidated structure known as the Gormley Building located at 211 East Main Street in Mt. Pleasant Borough. This building was a three-story formerly residential structure which while in private ownership was neglected for years and condemned by Mt. Pleasant Borough in 2007. Subsequently, ownership was transferred to the borough. The final cost was $71,123.34.

08-13 Irwin Borough: Sidewalk Replacement
Reconstruction of 2,000 square feet of deteriorated curbs and sidewalks on a two-block section of Main Street was completed. The project also included ramping for handicapped accessibility at two locations. The sidewalks were damaged and uneven and presented tripping hazards and mobility obstacles to disabled persons. Final cost was $422,696.00.
