The March For Parks is THREE times the fun! We're holding Marches at three locations in 2017: Twin Lakes Park, Cedar Creek Park, and the Turtle Creek Extension of the Westmoreland Heritage Trail at the Murrysville SportZone.

Download the Save The Date flyer!

Online Registration will be available in 2017!

When registering, please check which March you'll be attending:
  • Twin Lakes Park in Greensburg
  • Cedar Creek Park in Belle Vernon
  • Turtle Creek Extension of the Westmoreland Heritage Trail at the Murrysville SportZone (4491 School Road South, Murrysville, PA 15668)

On-site registration begins at 8:30 am and the Marches start at 10:30 am. ALL MARCHERS must report to the Check-in Station at each March (there will be signs posted at the event). There will be a lot of people to check-in, so the earlier you can arrive, the better! We will be awarding prizes around noon, so be sure to stick around after the March!

You will turn in all contributions at the March. Also, be sure to register your dog for the March for Parks!

What is the March for Parks?

To march, collect contributions (donations) to support parks and recreation in Westmoreland County. You can collect donations individually or as a team. 3 or more people are needed to form a team; organize your friends, family, school, place of worship, or business. Get as many people to register on your team as possible, and set a fundraising goal for each team member. The team competition is a lot of fun! We will be honoring the Top 10 teams from all three events.

Show your team spirit with custom matching t-shirts from Fancy Fox Custom Design in Murrysville! March for Parks teams can design their own unique shirts for only $3.25 each (any 1 color shirt, 1 color ink, full front image OR chest image + full back). Come up with a catchy name or a cool theme; use your own design or they will design a shirt for you! Email Eric at or call (724) 327-3339. Kid & adult sizes Small—X Large (2X, 3X, 4X, & 5X are an additional charge). All teams from all three locations can take advantage of this offer!

INDIVIDUALS who raise $25 or more will get an official March For Parks t-shirt or doggie bandana. Individuals who raise $150 or more will get a gift card mailed after the March. You may turn in cash or make checks payable to "WCPRCAB."

Gift Cards and T-Shirts are based on INDIVIDUAL contributions. If you have raised team money and wish to have it credited accordingly, please fill out a contribution form for each team member!

Where does the money go?

You can designate your funds raised to these exciting new projects in our County Parks and Trails:
  • Cedar Creek Park: Dog Park, Winter Sports Area, Accessible Playground, and R.C. Model Airfield improvements
  • Mammoth Park: Giant Slide upgrade, Disc Golf Course, Tennis Court and Dek Hockey Court renovations
  • Turtle Creek Extension of the Westmoreland Heritage Trail: Construction of 5.9 miles from Murrysville to Export and bridge renovations along the trail
  • Land Acquisition
  • ALL PARKS: Improvements to restrooms, parking lots, roads, walkways, and other support facilities
  • Wherever most needed

THANK YOU to last years Marchers and Sponsors! Wrapping up its 14th year, the March For Parks events held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Twin Lakes Park, Cedar Creek Park, and in Murrysville were outstanding successes! Over 825 Marchers, 40 teams and 50 business sponsors came out and raised over $94,000 to support Westmoreland County’s parks, trails and recreation programs!

The Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation Citizens Advisory Board, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and donations to it are tax deductible (ID #25-1895187). There are no goods or services provided in return for a contribution.

If you cannot attend the March, but would still like to contribute, please send a check made payable to
