The March For Parks is THREE times the fun! We're holding Marches at three locations in 2015: Twin Lakes Park, Cedar Creek Park, and the Turtle Creek Rail-Trail at the Murrysville SportZone.

Registration begins at 8:30am and the Marches start at 10:00am. ALL MARCHERS must report to the Check-in Station at each March (there will be signs posted at the event). There will be a lot of people to check-in, so the earlier you can arrive, the better! We will be awarding prizes around noon, so be sure to stick around after the March!

Registration is closed! You can register on-site at the March!

When registering, please check which March you'll be attending:
  • Twin Lakes Park in Greensburg
  • Cedar Creek Park in Belle Vernon
  • Turtle Creek Rail-Trail at the Murrysville SportZone
You will turn in all contributions at the March!

Also, register your dog for the Twin Lakes and Cedar Creek Marches!
(Dogs are NOT permitted at the Turtle Creek Rail-Trail March in Murrysville!)

Get Started!

To march, you must collect contributions (donations) to support parks and recreation in Westmoreland County. You can collect donations individually or as a team. 3 or more people are needed to form a team; organize your friends, family, school, place of worship, or business. Get as many people to register on your team as possible, and set a fundraising goal for each team member. The team competition is a lot of fun! We will be honoring the Top 10 teams from all three events.

INDIVIDUALS who raise $25 or more will get an official March For Parks t-shirt or doggie bandana. Individuals who raise $150 or more, will get a gift card. You must turn in all contributions at the March to be eligible for all prizes. You may turn in cash or make checks payable to "CAB Growth Fund."

Gift Cards and T-Shirts are based on INDIVIDUAL contributions. If you have raised team money and wish to have it credited accordingly, please fill out a contribution form for each team member!

Where does the money go?

You can designate your funds raised to these exciting new projects:
  • Completion of the Twin Lakes Park Expansion to include a dek hockey rink, outdoor amphitheater, and additional restrooms and parking
  • R/C Airfield Improvements at Cedar Creek Park
  • Dog Park at Cedar Creek
  • Construction and Engineering of the Turtle Creek Railroad to construct a walking/hiking/biking trail
  • Disc Golf Course at Mammoth Park
  • Wherever most needed

Registration is closed! You can register on-site at the March!

THANK YOU to last years Marchers and Sponsors! Wrapping up its 12th year, the March For Parks events held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Twin Lakes Park, Cedar Creek Park, and the Turtle Creek Rail-Trail were outstanding successes! Over 1,050 Marchers, 65 teams and 80 business sponsors came out and raised over $104,000 to support Westmoreland County’s parks, trails and recreation programs! There are so many people who came to the Marches to make the Westmoreland County Parks Citizens Advisory Board (CAB) March For Parks a truly appreciated event.

The Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation Citizens Advisory Board, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and donations to it are tax deductible (ID #25-1895187). There are no goods or services provided in return for a contribution.

If you cannot attend the March, but would still like to contribute, please send a check made payable to
