Protective Services These services target those individuals who are at greatest risk
Older Adults Protective Services Elder abuse can present itself in various forms - physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, financial exploitation, caregiver neglect and self neglect. Each year hundreds of thousands of older persons are abused, neglected and exploited by family members and others. Many victims are people who are frail and vulnerable; who cannot help themselves; and who depend on others to meet their most basic needs.

If you suspect abuse of an older person, you should report it by calling: 
  • Westmoreland County - Call 1 (800) 442-8000 between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm on weekdays. After hours, on weekends or holidays call 911 or the statewide toll-free Elder Abuse hotline, 1 (800) 490-8505. Your call will be confidential. Protective Services will investigate and follow-up with every appropriate action to assist the consumer.
Under 60 Adult Protective Services The AAA provides crisis intervention for eligible person between the ages of 18 and 59 with protective services needed.
