Passport Information
No appointment necessary.  Passport service is available until 3:30 pm daily and on Thursdays until 6:00 pm. 
Please allow 30 minutes for processing.

Proof of Citizenship

Applicants must provide proof of citizenship in the form of:
  • A certified birth certificate has a registrar’s raised, embossed, impressed or multicolored seal, registrar’s signature, and the date the certificate was filed with the registrar’s office.
  • Notification of birth is not acceptable.
  • Hospital and doctor certificates are not considered primary evidence of citizenship.
  • Beginning April 1, 2011, the U.S. Department of State will require the full names of the applicant’s parent(s) to be listed on all certified birth certificates to be considered as primary evidence of U.S. citizenship for all passport applicants, regardless of age. Certified birth certificates missing this information will not be acceptable as evidence of citizenship. This will not affect applications already in-process that have been submitted or accepted before the effective date.

You must apply in person if:
  • You are applying for your first U.S. passport
  • You are under age 16
  • Your previous U.S. passport was issued when you were under age 16
  • Your previous U.S. passport was lost, stolen, or damaged
  • Your previous U.S. passport was issued more than 15 years ago
  • Your name has changed since your U.S. passport was issued and you are unable to legally document your name change

Additional ID 
Must be one of the following:
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Student ID card
  • Current employee photo ID card
  • Major credit card
  • Naturalization certificate
  • Insurance card
  • Pennsylvania ID card
  • Minor (under age 16) information
