Bruno Mediate
Bruno Mediate
Bruno Mediate has over 30 years of experience working in the Criminal Justice System, starting as a juvenile probation officer for Westmoreland County in 1985 to his current role as Chief Adult Probation/Parole beginning in November 2010.

His services for the county include:
  • First Prison Population Officer: Required to manage, control and institute programs in a prison where the population reached crisis levels.
  • Implementing an electronic monitoring program for DUI offenders.
  • Key role implementing JNET in courts and municipal police departments
  • Adult Probation Office: Expanded the Intermediate Punishment and Electronic Monitoring Programs and created and secured grant funding for additional alternative program such as Intensive Supervision, Drug testing, Pre-Trial Services, Community Service Work, Offender Day/Partial Treatment and a Day Reporting Center.

Recent Achievements as Chief Adult Probation/Parole Officer: 
  • New risk/needs assessment tool 
  • Risk based supervision 
  • Sex offender unit 
  • Evidence based training/programming/practices 
  • New probation parole (web-based) case management system 
  • Appointed County DUI Coordinator in January 2013 
  • Adult Probation Department begins managing the Alcohol Highway Safety School in July 2013

  • M.S. in Administration of Justice, Shippensburg University of PA. 
  • Adjunct Criminal Justice Instructor, Westmoreland County Community College.

Personal:
Bruno is also very involved with his church and community and belongs to a number of local civic organizations. He is married and is the father of two adult children.
