Disposition of a Case & Records Destruction
Disposition of Case
The disposition by the youth commission will vary with each case. After a proceeding, the youth commission has the option to require any or all of the following:
  • Supervision (not to exceed six months)
  • Counseling
  • Community Service Work
  • Curfew
  • Restitution
  • Book Reports, Daily logs, etc
  • Referral to SAP (Student Assistance Program)
  • Drug/Alcohol Assessment

If conditions are not met, the case should be referred back to the referring party. The youth commission does have the option of not accepting a case.

Records Destruction Policy
Upon termination or successful completion of a case, proper notification shall be made to the referral source and the Westmoreland County Juvenile Probation Department. Once notification is completed, all records pertaining to the individual’s case being held by the youth commission shall be destroyed by being shredded or incinerated.
