Digital Ortho-Photography
EarthData was contracted by Westmoreland County in the Spring of 2003 to develop
true orthoimages over the 1025 square mile county. EarthData acquired digital
imagery using the state-of-the-art Leica ADS40 sensor and produced 1’ GSD color
true orthoimages (free of building lean or radial distortion) with the ISTAR
processing system. The data was acquired in April 2003 in 5 lifts (sorties).
Data was produced by EarthData to have a horizontal accuracy of 1.64 feet and a
vertical accuracy of 1 meter. This data exceeds ASPRS accuracy standards for
1”=200’ scale mapping.
