The Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Awareness Committee is a group initiated in 2011 comprised of advocates from many corners of Westmoreland County including - but not limited to - Program Specialists, Supports Coordinators, provider representatives, family members, and community volunteers.
What do we do? We plan events to celebrate with the IDD community each year in the month of March (IDD Awarenesss Month). Promoting awareness, acceptance, and respect are some of our goals.

The March For Parks will now be 3 times the fun! Marches will be held at Twin Lakes Park, Cedar Creek Park, and the Murrysville SportsZone. All events will start at 10:30am and end at noon with lunch for registered participants. Prior to the events, marchers will collect contributions to benefit parks and trails projects in Westmoreland County. Marchers can participate as individuals or teams. The March For Parks is sponsored by the Westmoreland County Parks & Recreation Citizens Advisory Board. You can register online or call (724) 830-3950 for a registration brochure.
