  3. The Friends of the Y Event

    The Greensburg YMCA’s Friends of the Y Event is an upscale, yet relaxed event where Friends get together to support the Y and its mission in the community. The Friends of the Y Event proceeds are in support of our Replacement Reserve Account. This fund is used to improve our facility to ensure we are meeting the needs of our members and the Greensburg Community today and in the future.

  4. Monessen Fall Festival

    This is the First Annual Monessen Fall Festival, organized by the Monessen Amphitheater Committee. We will be holding a Doggie Parade & Costume Contest, a Children's Parade & Costume Contest, and a Trunk or Treat. There will also be food, crafts, and kids activities! Join us at the Amphitheater at 8pm for a special showing of 'Hocus Pocus'! This is a free event but donations are appreciated!   6. Young People's Concert-The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra

    Concucted by Daniel Meyer, Artistic Director. The WSO makes education entertaining with special kid-focused concerts. This year's presentation features English composer Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra (1946). Britten’s work presents an overview of the whole orchestra and highlights individual instruments. The concert also includes Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. You may purchase a ticket for $5 by calling 724.837.1850 or register online. Be sure to invite educators and homeschoolers you know!

  10. Operation Safe Surf and Cyberbullying: A New Kind of Threat

    Internet safety is rapidly becoming one of the toughest issues facing parents, and schools today. A priority issue for the PA Office of Attorney General, a new Internet safety program called "Operation Safe Surf" has been created to help educate kids, parents and schools about the importance of being safe online.

Juvenile Probation/PTSD

  1. Stress In Adolescence

    October 24, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ The Westmoreland County Juvenile Services Center

    Research studies have been consistent in identifying stress as a significant issue for adolescents. Self reported studies show that many adolescents have witnessed or experienced violence in their homes or communities. Stress in Adolescence is a 20 session curriculum training designed for adolescents in any setting. Each 1 hour exercise is designed to be psycho-educational in nature and all free standing. Exercises are hands on and interactive, enabling the participant to feel comfortable and willing to share. This training is a one day experience for staff; at the conclusion, participants will be provided the 20 session curriculum and be certified as trainers to continue the experience within their organization!

  1. Hobgoblin Hike - Cedar Creek Park
