February 7, 2014, 4:30 PM @ Commissioners Hall
The event is held in conjunction with the American Heart Association’s National Wear Red Day to raise awareness of heart disease, the number one killer of women.
A wine and heart-healthy hors d’oeuvre reception will be held at 4:30 p.m. which will be followed by a keynote address by a heart attack survivor at 5:30 p.m. A medical professional will be available to answer questions following the presentation.
Attendees are encouraged to wear red in support of the fight against heart disease. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease kills more women each year than all cancers combined.
Reservations are required by calling no later than Friday, January 31. Donations will be accepted that evening to benefit the American Heart Association.
“Go Red – Women and Heart Disease” is sponsored by the WCCC Black Awareness Committee.
