Kenneth A. Bacha began his career in the Westmoreland County coroner’s office in 2000, as a deputy coroner. In 2001, Ken was elected to the position of coroner and is currently serving his fourth four year term. The coroner is a life-long resident of Westmoreland County. Ken and his wife have three daughters and he currently resides in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
The Westmoreland County coroner is responsible for investigating the facts and circumstances of deaths that occur within the county, regardless of where the cause thereof may have occurred. The purpose of the investigation shall be to determine the cause of death and manner of death. The coroner is also responsible to determine whether or not there is sufficient reason to believe that any such death may have resulted from criminal acts or criminal neglect of persons other than the deceased.
The coroner’s office strives to conduct professional death investigations, work cooperatively with all agencies involved and maintain a high degree of respect and dignity for the deceased and their families.
